ypsilanti's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "ypsi straight" last night i fell asleep on your floor. in between places, all the stuff in boxes, i've been listening on headphones to the portable cd player or remixes that never get to tape on the four track. i fell asleep listening to the first pole cd. this morning i felt happy cause it still felt like fall, and i got up and went to ypsilanti, trying just to understand history and correct timing. it was a beautiful day. the post office, value world, stops at five different gas stations and convienience stores with five different non-functioning restrooms, lining the sides of Michigan avenue like ypsi fences. you were talking about our old house on oakwood, the house with no 90degree angles anywhere in it. someone was refering to "Our old crooked house", and you politely corrected them.. "I prefer to think of it as Ypsi straight". now at the library, missing everyone who's missing and waiting for everything to start and continue. here are some things i've been considering: In a week from now, you will have been gone for seven days. In about two months, Saturday Looks Good To Me will be a mobile unit. Everything breaks at the same time. Wherever you are is exactly where I want to be. When you sleep on the floor your dreams fall in straight lines. Last night i rode my bike around this infested city, and there's always noise, but there's always a place just far enough away from the noise and the cruelty, inhuman laughter and nonsensical assembly.. you can hear it so low in the back of your ear, but you know they're over there trying to ruin lives they can never touch or even hope to understand, and you are just barely far enough off to hear the silent stars times ten in your eyes. 17:21:53 - 2000-09-05 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
