ypsilanti's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- when i hear my name i want to disappear here we are again, with a scheduled shift at work beginning in about six hours and not even slightly tired. esme always opens the coffee shop at four am, running on average at three hours of sleep, but i can't do it anymore. i always come home and crash out so hard, repeating the cycle when i then wake up at one a.m. full of energy. but seriously, never ever let energy go to waste. think about not being able to move or get excited about anything and you'll probably get real excited and want to move. what if you don't have legs, or what if they stopped working? flashpapr played in detroit last night. it was ridiculous and then good, also. i liked it best when flashpapr would just do anything and whatever, and our last few shows have been more like that. the one in grand rapids included a strange last song where i punched everything and had a half-microphoned/half inaudable monolouge about all sorts of ridiculous shit. last night we played a version of gastr del sol covering "My Girl" (you had to be there, i suppose) and then Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" with lyrics altered for the state of romance in detroit. gj was there, and the fucker had on the same kind of belt as me!!! i talked to him for a little while, and then i realized he had dressed exactly the same as me!!! he hadn't dressed that way when he came, he had actually come in to the show, seen what i was wearing and then went back home, picked out the most haphazzard facsimile he could toss together, and TRULY COME BACK TO THE SHOW dressed just the same. i could have fucking spit. i hightailed it over to third street and played/danced at the Danse Asshole show. it was feirce. detroit is weird. i have been drinking a lot of vanilla coke, listening to the so-so new Bright eyes ep, John Lennon and Brendan Bensorn. me and little burrell get to go on tour soon. look out love. 3:49 a.m. - 5.22.02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
